Police are searching for armed men who robbed Kit Kat Cash & Carry store in Silverton on Wednesday morning.
The robbery happened around 07:00, just before the store opened for trading, said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Isaac Mculu.
“As the staff was preparing to offload cash from the safe and into the cash-in-transit van, two armed men forced their way inside the store. The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash in the safe and sped off in their getaway vehicle which was carrying two other men,” he said.
Mculu said a case of business robbery was opened.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, he said. Kit Kat management could not give comment at the time of going to print.
