Police searching for a suspect who shot, robbed TUT student

A 24-year-old Tshwane University of Technology student was shot and wounded last week, leading to a manhunt being launched by local police for the shooter.
Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi said the victim was walking alone between the bushes next to the university when he was attacked by a lone suspect with a firearm.
“The suspect demanded the cellphone and the victim resisted. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and shot him on his lower body. The suspect managed to grab the cellphone and fled, leaving the victim wounded.”
Nkoadi said the victim was rushed to hospital where he was recovering.
“He is in a stable condition. Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect is requested to contact the police on their Crime Stop number at 08600-10111 or my SAPS app.”
