Two suspects arrested for house robbery

“The residents were held at gunpoint by four men while they were being robbed of electronic ware such as phones and laptops, as well as a motor vehicle.”

Two alleged house robbers were apprehended Thursday afternoon in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion.

Spokesperson for Monitor Net JP le Roux said the company responded to the call around 14:00 in The Reeds.

“The residents were held at gunpoint by four men while they were being robbed of electronic ware such as phones and laptops, as well as a motor vehicle.

“Members of police, Copwatch, Scorpion, Fidelity ADT, Axon Security and Bidvest Security and Protea Coin also assisted.”

Le Roux said the owner of the property managed to apprehend one suspect, while another one fled the scene and hid a few blocks away in another resident’s yard.

“The suspect was apprehended in the yard and laptops and an unlicensed firearm was found on him. The other two suspects managed to get away,” Le Roux said.

Spokesperson for Wierdabrug police station Sergeant Divine Nkuna confirmed the incident and said two suspects would appear on charges of house robbery.
