Eersterust man shot dead in front of police station
When police went out to inspect, they found a white VW Polo had crashed into a concrete post.

An investigation has been launched into the murder of a man who was shot dead in front of the Eersterust police station recently.
Cheslyn Koffman (34) is believed to have been fleeing from his assailants when he was eventually shot and killed in front of the police station.
Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said police heard a loud bang at the back of the station on Sunday morning.
“When police went out to inspect, they found a white VW Polo had crashed into a concrete post. When the police went to the entrance they found the deceased on the passenger seat. He had sustained several gunshot wounds,” said Makhubela.
Makhubela said the victim was declared dead by Gauteng EMS at the scene. He said police were still unaware about the circumstances that led to the victim’s death and had opened an investigation into the matter.
“Police are looking for a known suspect who is currently on the run,” said Makhubela.
The victim’s family was not available for comment because they were still traumatised by his murder.
Koffman will be laid to rest tomorrow at the Pretoria east cemetery.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the murder to contact Captain Neveling or the Eersterust police station on 071 111 3516.
