Biting cold weather to blanket Pretoria this week

Sub-zero temperatures predicted from mid-week.

Pretorians should brace themselves for yet another intense cold front with minimum temperatures expected to reach below zero.

SA Weather Services forecaster Wayne Venter said the cold front was expected to fall over Gauteng on Wednesday evening.

He said cool sunny conditions were expected to last until Wednesday.

“For Monday and Tuesday, maximum temperatures will remain in the high teens. Wednesday will be windy as the cold front moves through towards the Gauteng region. A maximum of 19°C is expected,” he said.

“From Thursday going into the weekend, there’s a significant drop in maximum temperatures,” Venter said.

“On Thursday, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 13°C from a minimum of 0°C. The chilly weather will persist with a minimum of -1°C and a maximum of 14°C for Friday.”

Venter said chilly temperatures were expected to persist throughout the weekend.
