More than 12 tonnes of food delivered to KZN
“Our focus is primarily to help get food to old age and children’s homes where there is need.”
A local business in Pretoria, aided by their community, helped to deliver more than 12 tonnes of food to distribution points in KwaZulu-Natal.
This was done to aid victims of the recent violent protests and looting in the province.
Stephan Corthing of Ultimate Stationery said the delivery of food parcels this week was a success.

“Driving through parts of KZN was like driving through a war zone. I really don’t think people realise just how bad it is,” said Corthing on Wednesday.
Corthing and staff at his business had driven all the way from Pretoria to KZN with a six tonnes heavy vehicle, five of the company’s bakkies and a 6m long trailer filled with non-perishable food.
“We also took along some packages of goods our community wanted delivered to their families in KZN.”

Corthing said 12 tonnes of food and goods were delivered at various distribution points in the province on their first trip and six ton more was on its way.
“Our focus is primarily to help get food to old age and children’s homes,” he said.
“Places that are already struggling amidst the national lockdown.”
Other goods that were transported along with food, included pet food, toiletries and diapers.
“We really want to thank our community for all their donations, as this would not have been such a great success without them.”
