Police, helicopter security and TMPD take down four in Centurion
“We will be investigating and linking them with several crimes that have been occurring in the past month.”
On Thursday at 04:00, Lyttelton police with Tshwane metro police, vehicle tracking companies and private security helicopter arrested four suspects in a multi-disciplinary operation.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the operational team were deployed in the Lyttelton policing area with specific objectives.
“During the course of the operation the suspects’ vehicle was detected by team members, a tactical plan was then executed to bring the vehicle to a standstill.
“When the vehicle was searched two unlicenced firearms with serial numbers filed off, housebreaking equipment, a metro police reflector jacket and drugs inside it was discovered,” said Miller.

He said the four suspects were facing charges relating to possession of two unlicenced firearms, possession of a police uniform, possession of housebreaking implements and possession of drugs.
“We will be investigating and linking them with several crimes that have occurred in the past month.”
Miller said the arrested would appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court within 48 hours.
