Teyana Abdol (7) was recently crowned the first-ever Little Miss Denlyn Mall 2021 in an electrifying event.

The event was held in Denlyn mall in Mamelodi West with 30 beautiful contestants between the ages of six and 10 years.

Little Miss Denlyn Mall walked away with lots of prizes from the sponsors.

The 1st Princess title went to Myleah Kock (7), 2nd Princess and Miss Confidence to Thurayyah Mongwe (8) and Okuhle Sithole (9) was crowned Miss Public Choice.

The event was organised by Black Chair Events in collaboration with the former Miss Teen SA 2019, Oratilwe Mashigo.

Miss Public Choice Okuhle Sithole (9), 2nd Princess and Miss Confidence Thurayyah Mongwe (8), 1st Princess Myleah Kock (7) and Little Miss Denlyn Mall 2021, Teyana Abdol.

Founder of Black Chair Events, Mimi Mashigo, said Miss Little Denlyn Mall 2021 is a pageantry platform that is open to children who are at the beginning of their education journey.

“The competition is not about beauty but to build confidence at a young age,” said Mashigo.

“We offer a helping hand to young girls polishing their confidence and voicing themselves in preparation of their independent journey at school.”

Oratilwe Mashigo said being part of the first Miss Little Denlyn Mall is a great honour and an opportunity to give back to the community and share her experiences.

“We believe a young girl with a voice, who owns her walk, will one day become a young advocate for what she believes in,” said Oratilwe, who runs a modelling school for young, aspiring pageant queens.

She said the competition will be held annually and the children must be in grade 1, have a pleasant personality, be communicative and sociable.

The modelling school will focus on pageant coaching, public speaking, mentorship programmes and most importantly empowering and training young, independent princesses.

“Our vision is to have young pupils exposed to different industries where they can turn their passion into purpose and cover the entire city of Tshwane as the pageant grows and includes all residents,” she added.

The date for the next competition is expected to be announced next year.
