Mamelodi family still searching for missing man, a week on

“According to some reports, Philemon was seen on Simon Vermooten Road on Friday afternoon.”

A Mamelodi family was still searching for Philemon Manamela (30) after he went missing last week Friday.

“He’s still missing,”Manamela’s sister Rebecca told Rekord on Sunday.

In an earlier interaction with Rekord, his cousin Pennelope Basson said Manamela had left his Mamelodi East home on Friday afternoon, but did not return.

“He was at home when we left for work on Friday morning,” she said.

“When we returned, he wasn’t home and that night, he didn’t come back or call.”

Basson said a missing person docket had since been opened at the Mamelodi East police station.

“According to some reports, Philemon was seen on Simon Vermooten Road on Friday afternoon,” she said.

Anyone with information on Manamela’s whereabouts has been to contact Rebeca on 076 701 2459 or Basson on 067 043 4500.
