Gogo encourages young people to vote
Senior citizen encourages young people to vote for change.
Gogo Sarah Shonisani (69) from Mamelodi encouraged the youth to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming local elections.
“Young people are the future leaders of this country,” she said.
“It is important to vote because it’s their turn to carry the baton and run with it to a bright future.”
Shonisani spoke of the first time she cast her vote in 1994.
“Though I was a little scared not knowing what to find at the polls, I was happy that my vote made such an impact in history.
“Many people are looking for jobs. Casting their votes will hopefully bring change and the government of their choice will create job opportunities for everyone,” she said.
“The youth need to know that they vote for change and that it will benefit them.
“South Africans have a voice. They must make sure their voices are heard,” said Shonisani.
