Mams man killed, woman shot twice

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a man was killed and a woman shot twice at her home on Sunday afternoon.

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a man was shot several times and killed, and a woman was shot twice, when four suspects armed with pistols and rifles stormed their home in Mamelodi.

Solomon Ntuli (38) was shot several times and killed, by four suspects armed with pistols and rifles, while he was visiting the home of his partner’s parents in Mamelodi on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said the four suspects before firing several bullets at Ntuli, first shot the mother of his partner two times as she was trying to stop the armed men from entering her home.

The incident took place around 16:30 on Sunday afternoon.

“Four suspects, each armed with a pistol and a rifle, entered a house at section G in Mamelodi, looking for the 38-year-old man. It is alleged that the man had visited his girlfriend at the very same house where suspects came,” Muridili said.

“They were confronted by the mother of the girlfriend, who was shot on the leg and arm as she was refusing the suspects entry. The attackers proceeded to the backroom where they shot the victim through the door with several shots and he died.”

Muridili said the suspects fled in a silver grey Toyota Corolla to the Heights Hostel in Mamelodi where they shot several times at the hostel building but no one was reported to have been injured.
