Metro police recovers stolen vehicle as driver flees on foot
The driver of the black Ford Mustang vehicle with no registration plates was allegedly driving from a night club in high speed.

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) had a successful weekend with stolen vehicles recoveries and arrests.
TMPD spokesperson Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said members from region 4 in Centurion were doing patrols at the R511 when they noticed a Ford Mustang driving from a night club at high speed.
The black Ford Mustang had no registration plates.
“They tried to stop the vehicle but the driver did not stop, they then gave chase.”
Mahamba said the chase ended when the driver abandoned the vehicle in the bushes and fled on foot.
He said when the officers searched the vehicle they found a firearm with an erased serial number.
“The vehicle was towed and it was later discovered that the vehicle had just been stolen at the night club.”
He said the suspect was still at large.

While in a separate incident, TMPD tactical unit members recovered a Polo which was reported stolen in Brooklyn.

Mahamba said the vehicle was found in an empty house at Lotus Gardens, west of Pretoria.
“The same members also arrested a drunk driver at Van der Hoff Road in Hercules.”
Mahamba said the arrest came about when officers were busy with stop-and-search operations in the area.
“When the driver was stopped, he appeared to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.”
