Power restored to residents of Kloofsig and Lyttleton

"We toiled hard, tirelessly, for the past few days in a bid to restore power to our consumers before Christmas and we managed to do that," said City of Tshwane.

Power has been restored in Kloofsig and Lyttleton areas after the substation that distributed power to them was gutted by fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
“We toiled hard, tirelessly, for the past few days in a bid to restore power to our consumers before Christmas and we managed to do that,” said Tshwane metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba.
“We started with the gradual restoration this morning to some of the consumers, and before 14:00, we managed to energise the outstanding residents.”
Bokaba said the only outstanding part of Kloofsig that was still without power is the SOE Denel.
“The team is working hard on bringing back Denel once the faults have been identified and fixed.
The cause of the fire has not been established yet, however, investigations are underway.
