Festive messages from CPF, police, security and ward councillors in the Moot
The ward councillors from the Moot, police, CPF and security companies would like to wish their residents a Merry Christmas and safe festive season.

Ward councillors from the Moot, CPF members, security companies and police wish their residents a Merry Christmas and a safe festive season.

Villieria CPF chairperson, Susan Andrews:
We are now entering the year-end holidays and Christmas season.
One often hears people talking about the silly season, but I like to refer to it as the season for love and peace.
This is also the season where we so often forget what this is all about: we are celebrating the birth of Christ, and as children of God, our actions should be such that our neighbours can see the work of God in our actions.
With that being said, while we are in the mindset of forgiveness and only wanting to spread love, one should not forget that there are criminals out there and we should look out for one another.
Whether you are travelling or staying at home for the holidays, be safe and enjoy your time with family and loved ones.
Let’s all recharge our batteries, both physical and spiritual so that we are ready for the challenges of 2022.
I must take this opportunity to once again ask the community to get involved in their CPFs in 2022.
It is my prayer that each person has a blessed Christmas season and an even more blessed 2022.

Moot CPF chairperson, Elsabe Weyers:
2021 was another challenging year, but by the grace of God, our lives are slowly returning to normality. We have lost many community members, friends and family to Covid-19. We cherish the memory of those who have lost their lives and keep their loved ones in our prayers.
Many businesses suffered severely and many did not survive the impact of the pandemic. Unemployment has notably grown in the Moot. Along with this, there was a rise in social problems that affected the elderly, children and families.
Once again, a core group of community members has opened their hearts and donated to the projects of the Pretoria Moot CPF to assist those in need. We will remain grateful for your unselfish contribution.
Our wish for 2022 is that the Moot will be a caring community that looks after its elderly, children and families. Let us reach out to those in need and act as our brothers’ keepers.
Members of the Moot CPF wish our community a blessed Christmas season and may 2022 exceed your wildest expectations.
Please do the right thing and have you and your family vaccinated against Covid-19. It saves you and your family a lot of misery.

Spokesperson of Eersterust police, Sam Shibambo:
The South African police service in Eersterust would like to wish the community of Eersterust a happy festive season. The community is once again reminded to adhere to the following safety measures to safeguard themselves and their properties during the festive season period and beyond.
– Avoid carrying large amounts of cash;
– When going away on holiday inform your security company, neighbour, or get a trustworthy person to look after your property;
– When you suspect that you are being followed from the bank, drive to the nearest police station;
– Report all suspicious persons and vehicles to the police;
– Always make sure that your vehicle is securely locked before leaving it unattended as criminals may try to jam your vehicle security system;
– Always lock your valuables in the boot of your vehicle.

Local ward councillor, Elma Nel:
It is my privilege and honour to wish you love and peace for the festive season ahead.
May we never forget why we commemorate the birth of Jesus at Christmas and may every person at this time find a reason to be sincerely grateful for every blessing in our lives.
Residents who are going away on holiday are in my prayers for a safe journey.
May we all also approach the new year with new hope and new courage.
Be assured of my commitment at all times.

Local ward councillor, Wayne Helfrich:
As 2021 grows to an end, I wish that the new year’s joy overshadows the loss and pain of this year.
I wish a merry and blessed Christmas to those who celebrate and a successful, wealthy, healthy happy holidays to all.
The last year of challenges will bring a new year of lessons and experience and I hope that the community goodwill that was started will continue to grow, inspire and make our city a better place for all.

Spokesperson of Kilnerpark security, Ancelize van der Kooi:
We would like to wish our beloved community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you very much for everyone’s support in 2021. May 2022 only mean a better year and a stronger community for us.
Be safe in the festive period, may our heavenly Father protect and wrap everyone in love.

Station commander for Pretoria Moot, Colonel Giben Hlengeni Mashaba:
As 2021 only have a few days left and everyone are preparing to celebrate the festive time with family and friends, we would like to use this opportunity to wish everyone in the community and their families a blessed festive season and a renewed sense of hope and prosperity for 2022.
Thank you for honouring the members of SAPS Pretoria Moot, who strive and commit to establishing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for the community.
Be safe and vigilant at all times and be assured that the management and members are at all times on high alert in the fight against crime.
A big thank you to the Moot CPF, private security companies and other role players for the ongoing support and commitment in assisting the Moot police. We hope and believe their commitment will continue in 2022.
It is common knowledge that most crimes are committed in the absence of the police, but in the presence of members of the public and for this reason, we want to sensitise those visiting shopping complexes, families or friends to be more vigilant during this time of the year.
