Tshwane mayor calls for prosperity for all in the New Year

“We must create a future which will take our country forward.”

Tshwane metro mayor Randall Williams has called on all in the country to strive towards a collective goal, to create a prosperous economic environment in 2022.

Reflecting on the past year, he said: “A year which has been immensely difficult across the country and globally. This came as we continued to contend with the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic which has had a fundamental and lasting change on the global economy and how we work.”

Williams said 2021 was a year that had brought difficulty where many had faced economic hardship or suffered personal losses.

“However, it was also a year that made us resilient and strong and from this I believe we can always draw hope. Hope for a brighter future and hope for our country.”

He wished the residents of Tshwane a happy New Year.

“May it bring prosperity to you and your families.

“May 2022 be a year filled with hope for you and your families as we look towards the future together.”

Williams said a collective goal for 2022 had to be created for a prosperous economic environment for all South Africans, especially after taking the lessons learnt in the past year.

“We must create a future which will take our country forward. May 2022 be a year filled with hope for you and your families.”
