Metro continues this week with Covid outreach programme
All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
The Tshwane metro continued its outreach programme this week focusing specifically on Pretoria’s Covid-19 hotspots.
This as the metro recorded 337 more cases on Friday compared to the previous day.
Services rendered during the outreach included Covid-19 screening, testing and vaccination, HIV testing, high blood pressure monitoring, condom distribution, chronic medication and referrals to other health facilities.
Residents can visit these sites daily from 09:30 to 13:00 as follows:
Monday: Kilnerpark
Tuesday: Eersterust plaza
Wednesday: Uitkyk Vleismark (Silverton)
Thursday and Friday: Olievenhout plaza
On Friday Tshwane’s Covid statistics were as follows:
– Positive cases: 329 334
– Recoveries: 319 847
– Vaccines administered: 1 826 921
– Individuals fully vaccinated: 1 020 713
According to a press release by the Gauteng health department, the total number of confirmed Covid cases in the province, as confirmed on Friday, stood at 1 153 915.
Recovered cases were 1 121 043 and 20 334 deaths were reported.
A total number of 2 660 people are currently hospitalised in public (1 209) and (1 451) in private facilities.
A total of 8 031 816 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the province as of Friday. And a total number of individuals vaccinated, was 5 056 972 and individuals fully vaccinated, were 4 161 945.
All persons 12 years and older are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. Getting 70% or more of the adult population vaccinated will minimise the impact of the virus.
This will also help citizens return to the things they love doing such as attending sporting, cultural, religious and entertainment events of their choice, safely.
The public is further reminded that those who received a two-dose vaccine, need to return for the second dose at 42 days.
All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
The department called on members of the public to continue adhering to non-pharmaceutical interventions by maintaining a safe physical distance, wearing a mask, washing their hands regularly with soap and water, or using an alcohol-based sanitiser and avoiding large gatherings.
