East robber sentenced to 15 years
“In the same month, two robberies took place in Erasmus. In both incidents, a firearm was used to threaten the complainant.”
Bronkhorstspruit SAPS management welcomed the 15 years sentence of a man for armed robbery last week.
Vuzimuzi Mnxube was sentenced to 15 years at the Bronkhorstspruit regional court after he was found guilty of business robbery, possession of stolen property and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
On November 12, 2020, Mnxube robbed an accountant’s business in Erasmus where a cellphone, jewellery and laptops were stolen, said Bronkhorstspruit police spokesperson Munyadziwa Ramovha.
“In the same month, two robberies took place in Erasmus. In both incidents, a firearm was used to threaten the complainant.”
The firearm was later linked to the suspect and both robberies.

Bronkhorstspruit police applauded Detective Jerry Threeboy Gama for a job well done.
“He investigated the case with professionalism and integrity, which led to the accused Vusimuzi Mxube being sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment,” Ramovha said.
Meanwhile, police appealed to the public to give correct information when opening case dockets.
“In some instances, complainants would give wrong contact numbers or residential addresses which becomes a problem for an investigative officer to get hold of them,” Ramovha said.
