Naked man runs away from police after domestic violence complaints

A woman, who was in the house, was arrested after failing to answer questions about an illegal firearm found by police.

An Ekangala man ran away naked when he saw police vehicles after neighbours reported a suspected domestic violence incident at his house early on Friday morning.

Upon searching the house an unlicenced firearm was found, according to police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe.

Selepe said the police would continue looking for the man.

“We received an anonymous call from community members reporting loud, aggressive noises, suspecting domestic violence at the man’s home.”

The man’s partner, who was found in the house, was arrested after failing to answer questions about the firearm.

“The woman also refused to answer questions of what happened before the police’s arrival.”

This included people arrested for possession of drugs, common robbery, undocumented persons, malicious damage to property, unlawful possession of a firearm, driving under the influence of liquor, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, murder and attempted murder.
