Pretoria motorists not happy with petrol hike
With the cost of living already high, motorists have expressed their frustration and how this will affect their travelling.
Local Pretoria motorists who are feeling the pinch with the recent petrol hike spoke out this week.
Since March 3, both grades of petrol have increased by R1.46 per litre, diesel has increased between R1.44 per litre and R1.48 per litre.
With the cost of living already high, motorists have expressed their frustration and how this is affecting them.

Taxi driver Doctor Kokobela Taba said petrol being this expensive would influence how often people travel.
“We as taxi drivers will continue losing money because people will limit their travelling plans and should that happen we won’t be able to get money to feed our families,” he said.

Bolt driver Phuti Masenya said they were losing clients and were no longer getting an income because of the petrol hike.
“This petrol hike is affecting us as Bolt drivers because we are depending on the money we are getting from our clients every day. We spend most of the money we make on petrol,” he said.
Motorists said they would not consider using public transport because that would be even more expensive than using their cars.
Another motorist, Fagadi Kato, said the price increase was taking its toll.
“I think this is what is going on everywhere and not only SA. When there is an issue with the fuel supply, prices will go up and the government can’t do much about it.”
