Pta North police arrest three people
Station commander Colonel Joyce Julla thanked community members who continued to provide police with valuable information and commended the police officers for their quick response.

Three people were arrested in two separate incidents by police from the Pretoria North policing precinct this week. In the first incident, police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said a 30-year-old person was arrested in the Pretoria North area after he was found in a champagne mica metallic Toyota Corolla which was reported hijacked in Sunnyside earlier this month.
“Pretoria North SAPS members received information from reliable sources about a suspicious vehicle with no registration number that had been parked for some time in a carport,” she said. Officers went to the address given where the vehicle was found.
“The vehicle was searched and the suspect was asked questions to which he did not provide satisfactory answers,” Selepe said.

The vehicle was found with false registration plates. A test of the VIN number revealed that it was a hijacked vehicle, sought in Sunnyside. “A 30-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a hijacked vehicle,” she said. In the second incident, Selepe said two people aged 33 and 47 were arrested on Thursday, after they were found with stolen cables.
“Pretoria North SAPS, working with Tshwane metro police officers, spotted a suspicious bakkie while they were conducting crime reduction operations,” she said. The bakkie was subsequently stopped and searched.

“Upon searching, the two suspects were found in possession of two bags of copper cables,” she said. Station commander Colonel Joyce Julla thanked community members who continued to provide police with valuable information and commended the police officers for their quick response, which led to the recovery of the hijacked vehicle and the arrest of two people who were in possession of copper cables.
