EPWP applicants urged to regularly update their contact details
“Selected candidates are contracted for a period of two weeks and if there is no response, the EPWP opportunity is given to the next person on the list."
Expanded public works programme (EPWP) applicants have been encouraged to update their contact details so as not to miss opportunities due to outdated details.
MMC for Social Development and Community Services, Peggy de Bruin said the EPWP applicants must regularly update their contact details on the data base.
De Bruin said the applicants must check and update their details at Pretoria CBD, the Ou Raadsaal building in Church Square only if they are not up to date.
“It is the responsibility of the applicants to check the contact details. The city struggles to reach out selected applicants to sign their work contracts.
“Selected candidates are contracted for a period of two weeks and if there is no response, the EPWP opportunity is given to the next person on the list,” she said.
De Bruin said it was important for the city to communicate with the selected applicants but that could not happen if they were unavailable.
She said the city wanted to support the community with employment opportunities.
