Safa Tshwane announces changes in regional league

Catch-up games will be played on public holidays, says Safa Tshwane.

The South African Football Association (Safa) in Pretoria on Wednesday announced some changes in the Regional League fixture.

“To ensure that all outstanding matches are brought up to date, Safa Tshwane has invoked section 2.17 of notice 10A of 2021,” Safa Tshwane administrator Lerato Moshoeshoe told Rekord.

She said according to this section, the postponed or cancelled matches would be played on a public holiday or any date to be determined by the Safa Tshwane competition committee, citing that outstanding games would be played on public holidays, Wednesday, April 27, and Monday, May 2.

Safa has also made some changes to matches scheduled to take place on Fridays owing to the load-shedding.

“All Friday night matches will be moved to an afternoon kick-off on the following day [Saturday].”

She said Safa Tshwane may approve requests by teams to reschedule some matches scheduled for Sunday based on valid reasons for the request and, most importantly, the availability of space for the match or matches to take place.

“Where applicable and subject to approval, affected teams may request to move their matches to a Sunday when there are no matches taking place on the day.”

She said all other matches would kick off no later than 15:00.

As a result, the fixture will be as follows:
