69-year-old man gunned down at Atteridgeville rank
“We found no weapons at the scene and no arrests have been made,” she said.
Police are investigating the murder of a 69-year-old man who was shot and killed in Atteridgeville on Friday, May 20.
The shooting happened at the Mphalane Street taxi rank at around 09:45.
According to the police spokesperson Mapula Rikhotso, the police were called in and responded to the scene immediately.
Details are limited at this stage.
“No one else was shot during the shooting.
“We found no weapons at the scene and no arrests were made,” she said.
Rikhotso said a murder case has been opened and was under investigation.
“Atteridgeville has not experienced a shooting like this in a long time.”
Rikhotso urged anyone with any information that will lead to arrests and prosecutions to come forward.
