Man shot for cellphone in east plot attack
The man and his grandmother were sleeping when two men broke into the house.
A 41-year-old man was in a critical condition after he was shot during a robbery at a plot in Donkerhoek, east of Pretoria, on Tuesday morning.
Mbatsane police spokesperson Sergeant Yeroboam said two intruders forced their way into the house where the man and his grandmother were sleeping.
He said a scuffle ensued between the robbers and the man, and shots were subsequently fired.
“Police are investigating a case of armed robbery,” he said.
“A cellphone was stolen.”
