WATCH: Laudium woman robbed outside supermarket
The robber opened her car, snatched a bag the fled on foot.

A woman was robbed of her belongings outside Jyoti Foods supermarket in Laudium on Saturday afternoon June 4 around 17:00.
The woman had just bought groceries from the supermarket and put them and her handbag in her car’s backseat.
In CCTV video footage released by the supermarket, the robber can be seen running towards the woman’s car before opening the backdoor and then helping himself to her handbag.
Supermarket employee Kavipa Lapane told Rekord the victim said she had money, a cellphone, bank cards and an ID in her handbag.
Lapane said the woman did her weekly shopping at the supermarket.
The footage further showed the man fleeing on foot and the woman chasing after him.
After giving up the chase on foot, the woman “got into her car and tried again but could not catch up to him”.
“She came back to the store a few minutes later crying so we tried to calm her down,” Kavipa said.
Kavipa said pedestrians also tried to chase after the robber but they too could not catch up to him.
She added that the woman was, however, not physically assaulted during the robbery.
It was not clear whether the victim opened a case with the local police as she could not be reached for comment and the Laudium police had not responded to media queries at the time of publication.
