Persistent rain expected in Gauteng, may lead to flooding in some areas
“If possible, stay indoors, and off the roads, avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles.”

A weather warning for disruptive rain has been issued for Gauteng.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a level two warning for residents to expect 60% chance of rain on Saturday, June 25.
The SAWS estimates that as much as 15mm of rain could fall in some areas.
No rain is expected for the rest of the weekend.
Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said emergency workers remain on high alert in case of possible flooding in the Centurion area, parts of Hammanskraal as well as the low-water bridge in Van der Hoff Road going into Mamelodi.
“The SAWS has issued a level two warning for disruptive rain. As such, we would like to call on motorist to be aware of the wet road conditions and to expect localised flooding of some roads and low-lying bridges.
“If possible, stay indoors, and off the roads, avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles.
“We call on motorist to be vigilant and keep safe following distances to avoid any possible accidents,” Mabaso said.
He added that if residents are at home during these cold conditions, they should be vigilant when using heating sources such as electricity, paraffin or gas heaters.
“Residents should ensure that all heating sources are monitored,” he said.
Should any assistance be required, call 10177 or 012 358 6300 or 012 358 6400 107.
