Stage 6 load-shedding confirmed for Tuesday and Wednesday evening
Stage 6 load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 on Tuesday until 22:00; and again on Wednesday from 16:00 until 22:00.
Eskom announced that Stage 6 load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 22:00 on Tuesday, due to a lack of generating units.
According to Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha, stage 4 load-shedding will then be implemented from 22:00 until midnight.
“Load-shedding will then be reduced to stage 2 until 05:00 on Wednesday morning.
“Stage 4 will return on Wednesday, from 05:00 until 16:00 and Stage 6 will return later that evening from 16:00 until 22:00,” said Mantshantsha.
He said the implementation of stage 6 load-shedding is a last resort as the national grid needs to be protected.
“Stage 6 load-shedding means we will be without electricity for eight hours in a day,” said Tshwane mayor Randall Williams.
