Gauteng police have issued a R50 000 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of a suspect in the Mamelodi tavern fatal shooting in July.
Bheki Sithole, 33, was shot twice in the head when three suspects armed with pistols, wearing balaclavas, raided Monaco Chisanyama in the east of Mamelodi on July 11. Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said a suspect, 26-year-old Madala Johannes Kgotsi, has been linked by police to the fatal shooting.
“Kgotsi is linked to the shooting incident on July 11 at a local tavern in Mamelodi wherein one person was shot dead and another sustained a gunshot wound,” Sello said.

She said Kgotsi is also wanted for a case of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition after he failed to make a court appearance.
“Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation or lead to the arrest of Khotsi is requested to contact Brigadier Emile Louw of the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit on 082 778 7906 or Colonel Nelson Manganye on 079 529 4642.”
Anonymous tip-offs can also be reported on the MySAPS App or Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111.
Sello said all information received would be treated as confidential.

Since the killing of Sithole for unknown motives, his distraught family has been seeking answers.
Previously speaking to Rekord’s Stephen Selaluke, Sithole’s mother Stephina (57), appealed to the public to help with information that could lead to the arrests of suspects.
She described her son as a loving person who worked hard to take care of his family.
Sithole made a living as a mechanic.
