Woman cut out of car after N4 accident that leaves four injured

The woman was found trapped in the car wreckage and the jaws of life were used to free her

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a collision on the N4 which also left three others injured.

Emer-G-Med paramedics attended to the scene where they found an overturned light motor vehicle on the N4 just after the N1 split.

“On arrival at the scene, a single light motor vehicle was found to have overturned.

“Three females and a male aged in their twenties sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated and stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital by a private ambulance service.

“On closer inspection a fourth female was found trapped in the wreckage with serious injuries.

“Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilise her, while the jaws of life were used to cut her free,” said Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

Once the woman was freed from the wreckage, she was rushed to a nearby hospital.
