Residents in Centurion are reminded to avoid roads affected by road closures due to sinkholes.
Sinkholes are affecting traffic at: Wierda road at the N14, Clifton road, Snake valley road, N1 South bound at the R21 interchange, R21, North of the Olifantsfontein road exit

Several sinkholes in Centurion have led to road closures in affected areas.
Here are the known affected areas.
Wierda road at the N14:
A forming sinkhole has led to damage that extends over the road. The road is closed leading to the on/offramp.

Clifton road:
Clifton road has a newly forming sinkhole about 200m on from a recently repaired sinkhole.

Snake valley road:
Snake Valley road has a very large sinkhole that extends over four lanes of the road and into a nearby military property. The road is closed in the affected area
N1 South bound at the R21 interchange:
Two lanes are closed for sinkhole repairs.
R21, North of the Olifantsfontein road exit:
Three lanes closed for sinkhole repairs.
There are also unconfirmed reports of a forming sinkhole at Zircon street at Unitas.
Last week, the City of Tshwane issued a warning to residents to be cautious of flooding at low bridges and flood prone areas. Residents are advised to remain cautious on the roads, particularly when it’s raining.
The city also warned against illegal invasion of land in floodplains, and debris and rubble blocking storm water drains.
