This year will be a big one for these new faces on the block
Maybe you don’t know their names yet, but these young artists proved they have what it takes to take on the new year.
Pretoria’s young talent will be sure to shine this year. Look and listen – these musos will certainly bring cheer to the year.
Droomsindroom
Kirsten and Kyle Schlebusch are like those naughty boys in the front of the class that the teacher always has to keep an eye on, but you can’t help but love them.
Laidback and with a flair for working an audience, 2022 was a big year for Droomsindroom. Among the many live performances they did across South Africa, the brothers also released the hit single “Hey Sonneblom”, a song they said they hoped would let listeners forget about their problems.
Kristen, the older of the brothers, first broke into the music scene with his single “Mia”, which saw great success in 2019.
Samantha Leonard

Born in Kimberly, this familiar face around the Pretoria music industry is no stranger to proving herself against others. In 2017, she took part in The Voice Season 2 in team Karen Zoid, but she wasn’t able to snag the win. However, 2022 proved to be her year, winning Die Kontrak season 2 with her powerful voice.
She hasn’t let her win get in her way and she can be seen at all the top who’s who events such as Afrikaans is Groot and the Aitsa awards.
Dodo Nyoka

Dodo was the runner-up for season 2 of Die Kontrak, but he didn’t let coming in second stop him from proving himself in the Afrikaans music industry.
He has a long history of proving himself an artist in his own right, entering and winning various Afrikaans artist competitions such as the ATKV Redenaars where he was the national winner in 2019 and the Afri-indi awards where he won best newcomer song for “Foto’s”. He has done a lot of work for Rhino conservation and is a big lover of the bush and braais.
Reën

This duo combines masculine and feminine in a soothing harmony made up of Farmer Richann Brüssow, who was on the 13th season of the matchmaker show Boer Soek ’n Vrou, and Nolene Spinks, from another show called Maak My Famous.
Reën broke onto the scene after Brüssow and fellow show contestant René de Klerk started singing together when they were in a relationship. But sadly, their relationship ended and De Klerk ended up announcing her departure from the duo in February last year.
Spinks and Brüssow, as the new Reën, hit the ground running releasing their debut single together, “Ek kan nie wag nie” as soon as Spinks joined the duo.
