Pretoria has a show for every taste this weekend
From ladies night, art exhibition openings and legendary acts, this weekend is jam-packed!

Looking for some entertainment? Here are some suggestions for the week ahead.
Ladies Night, Glee edition, January 19
Life can be such a drag, so why not spice up your Thursday night with a drag show and half price pizza at Railway’s Café in Centurion? See the queens Annita P, Genie Wish and Divine Intentions for their first themed Ladies Night, where the queens will bust out the biggest hits from the cult classic TV show Glee. As with all drag shows, don’t forget to bring cash to tip your queens. Tickets are R70 at the door.
Wolf. Esel. Elf, January 21
Experience a bit of Pretoria’s art offerings at the opening of a new exhibition titled “Wolf. Esel. Elf” at the Association of Arts Pretoria in Muckleneuk. It is an exhibition of works inspired by the fairy tales of Perrault. The participating artists are Ansa Clacey, Debbie Cloete, Diek Grobler, Floris Louw, Adele Potgieter, Loeritha Saayman, Mia van Wyk, Adelle van Zyl and Jahni Wasserfall. Ceramics by Alex Shabalala will also be on display.
The exhibition will be opened by Nataniël on Saturday at 11:00, with wine served to guests.
Pietman Geldenhuys, January 21
Out-of-towner Pietman Geldenhuys will be entertaining Pretorians at Die Blou Hond in Lynnwood from 19:30 with dinner served from 18:00. Dinner is booked pre-order only, so booking is essential. Bookings can be made on 012 348 8820.
Nineties vs Noughties, January 21 and 22
Which decade rocked our world the most? The Menlyn Barnyard Theatre will help you find out with its new show. Nineties vs. Noughties is a popular song roller coaster with a skilled 10-piece cast that resurrects pop and rock icons from both decades.
Pieter Smith, January 25
Legendary local Afrikaans singer Pieter Smith will make a turn at Jitterbugz in Centurion for a midweek treat next week. Smith will visit at 20:00, a perfect time for dinner and a show. Entrance is free, but booking is recommended. Bookings can be made by calling 082 215 8089.
Nataniël – Six in a boat, January 31
Nataniël returns to the Atterbury Theatre with his popular production Six in a boat. With stories in English and Afrikaans, brand new music, unique costumes and a company of excellent musicians, the show will be one not to miss.
Nataniël shares the stage with Marcel Dednam (piano), Werner Spies (bass), Peter Auret (drums) as well as singers Dihan Slabbert and Nicolaas Swart with costumes designed by Floris Louw.
