Why not take your family to one of our city’s public pools to cool off?
Pretoria has a range of public pools, from Olympic-sized training and competition pools to ones designed to be enjoyed by the whole family for a relaxing day out.
Many pools and waterparks are available to the public to chill out in on these sweltering summer days.
Hillcrest swimming pool is the oldest pool managed by the Tshwane metro. The pool was built in 1935, with the likes of Roland Schoeman and Ryk Neethling having walked through the gates and practised their butterfly racing in it.
The pools in Pretoria are not only used to cool off, have fun and meet with friends and family, but also to train divers for the army and navy, lifesavers and swimming trainers, host swimming competitions and championships and teach young kids how to swim and stay safe around water.
Many of these pools also offer braai facilities, large lawns for picnics and tuck shops.
