Several parts of the east of Pretoria without water
"Currently, we have over 30% reduction in supply from Rand Water requiring urgent action in order to protect water security in our city," the metro said.

Many residents have complained about water outages in parts of Pretoria East.
According to residents, Moreletapark, the Hills, parts of Garsfontein, Pretorius Park, Grootfontein and other areas of the east are reported to be without water.
Several residents took to social media to complain that they can’t wash the dishes, bathe or use the toilet.
A Moreleta Park resident in Paul Street said that their taps ran dry at around 19:00 on Wednesday.
“We had just finished eating and were about to take a bath when the taps ran dry,” the resident said.
“We have a two-year-old we needed to get clean and since we didn’t get any warning beforehand we had to make another plan.
“We ended up going to our local gym to take a shower.
“Our concern is that neighbouring suburbs have been experiencing water issues all week.
“Will this get even worse?
“Being without power is one thing. You can light a candle. But being without water really makes things impossible for a family, especially ones with small kids.”
This comes after the metro announced stage 2 water restrictions on Wednesday.
According to a press release yesterday, Rand Water has seen a 30% drop in water supply and therefore required “urgent action” to ensure water security for the city.
“While Rand Water has not officially announced stage 2 water restrictions yet, the level of flow control and reduction by Rand Water to the City of Tshwane is higher than in October 2022 when stage 2 saw a 30% reduction,” said utilities MMC Daryl Johnston.
“Currently, we have over 30% reduction in supply from Rand Water requiring urgent action to protect water security in our city.”
He asked that residents and businesses restrict water usage as best they can.
In an update regarding water issues in the Hills, the metro said on Thursday that it has “throttled the outlet of the reservoirs that supply the Hills to improve the level of the reservoir”.
“This is to enable the pumping of water into the towers that service the high-lying areas.
“The current load-shedding presents multiple challenges that may impact the City’s infrastructure.
“Key among them would be prolonged outages due to damage to electrical components as well as the water network system.”
