Shop in Wierdapark caught with drugs and illegal products

Police arrested two men for dealing in drugs, possession of illicit cigarettes, and possession of counterfeit medicine.

Two Bangladeshi men were arrested on Friday, March 3, after a tip-off from residents led to the discovery of drugs and illegal products.

Spokesperson Constable Lwando Ntlebi said Wierdabrug SAPS received a tip-off from the community that a shop in Wierdapark was in possession of illegal products.

She said “The information was confirmed and a search seizure warrant was obtained.”

Once the warrant was obtained, Wierdabrug SAPS, with the National Joint Operational Centre (NATJOC), Tshwane Metro police, Wierdabrug CPF and others, a search and seizure was executed at the shop.

“Two Bangladeshi males were arrested for dealing in drugs, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of counterfeit Grandpa’s as well as sexual enhancement tablets,” said Ntlebi.

She said the illegal products would be confiscated and the suspects would appear in court on Monday, March 6.
