Navigate your driver, disc renewal
List of stations for drivers that want to renew their driver's licence.
Living in Centurion and unsure where you should go to renew your driver’s licence or your car registration?
There’s the Gautrain station licence centre of course, but remember it is only by appointment.
The centre offers licence card renewal and temporary driver’s licence application services.
The centre can be reached online on the Natis website or 0800 428 87246 toll-free from Mondays to Sundays.
However, if you need to renew your vehicle licence disk, you might want to try your local SPAR, Pick n Pay or FNB bank.
However, if you find comfort in the conventional, you can go to the Centurion Road Traffic Management Corporation licensing office in Eco Park.
You can call the office on 012 358 9999 because you don’t want to go there only to find that there is a national shutdown or all clerks are on their lunch break at the same time.
The office offers licence tests, driver licence tests, driver licence card renewals and public driver permit applications.
The department insists you can book online to avoid long queues.
All vehicles must be licensed every year, but vehicles that are used for public transport or heavy loads require a yearly roadworthy test.
You will also need this roadworthiness certificate when you want to change vehicle ownership or register a new vehicle.
A roadworthiness test at an AVTS licence centre takes about an hour and will cost around R500.
Bring your vehicle registration certificate, ID and the prescribed fee.
You can download the form from the web or collect it from the help desk as you enter.
