“The show offered people in attendance an opportunity to relax and enjoy live music,” event organiser Henk van der Schyf told Rekord.

He said their aim as organisers was also to set up a good concert and create a platform for young and upcoming artists to showcase their talents.

“The show has a lot of fresh talent today including a young band called Vrede. It also has female rapper Augista Zietman and Werner Olckers, who each performed live for the first time in a show.”

It also had well-known artists including Zaan Sonnekus and popular Die Heuwels Fantasties.

The presence of bands such as Spoegwolf at the show attracted a lot of people.

Audience member Rose Cooper said she was excited to attend and experience the live music show, adding that her aim was to see Spoegwolf performing live.

“I have never seen Spoegwolf live,” she said, citing that this was her opportunity to see for the her favourite band performing live.

According to Van der Schyf the current show was a build-up to an official festival brand named Droomland, which was started last December and had 7 500 tickets sold out.

The second annual show is scheduled to take place late this year with the plan of hosting a maximum of 10 000 people at the Botanical Gardens.
