Pretorians enjoy first ever Lekkerland music festival hosted in the Capital City
“For the longest time Lekkerland remained a signature event for Mpumalanga.”
The most anticipated music festival, Lekkerland finally made its way to the Capital City.
The festival was packed to the brim by 10:00 on Saturday with joyful and energetic fans rocking their designer outfits.
Clarissa Putter and Conor Du said it was their first time at the festival, which made its debut at the botanical gardens in Pretoria.

“I just hope this won’t be the first and the last time the show comes down this side. That would really be a disservice to many of us loyal patrons,” Conor Du said.
Angelo van Rensburg came all the way from Mpumalanga to attend the event, saying that he would not miss it for the world.
“For the longest time Lekkerland remained a signature event for Mpumalanga; it’s great to see the event managers finally deciding to take it to other places,” said Van Rensburg.

An excited Cor van Der Merwe told Rekord it was a great feeling to finally attend the show here in Pretoria as it was difficult to attend the Mpumalanga one.
“I am happy that finally, the show made its way to Pretoria as it was difficult for one to get an off day to attend the show. Now that it’s here I could not miss it for the world,” Van Der Merwe said.
A Mamelodi resident, Lindiwe Nkoane, told Rekord she had won tickets to come and enjoy the festival.
Nkoane said she wanted to experience the other side of music.

“I want to open up my music experience hence I decided to come. One major reason for my being here was also to break the stereotype that black people don’t listen to rock music.”
King Price head of marketing De Wet van Deventer said his team was excited about the festival, saying it was a music show for family and friends.

“The festival is about family, that’s why kids 15 years and under’s entrance was free. The show is for everyone hence we have carnival rides, bars and food stalls,” Van Deventer added.
