The Jägermeister Brass Cartel made various appearances throughout the day.

A VARIETY OF CRAFT BEERS WERE ON OFFER

Craft beer lovers enjoyed beers from mild to wild with excellently brewed classic styles like Weisses and lagers to the more creative such as a green cactus beer and lambic style beers.

Over 40 South African and international breweries featured their top brews at the festival.

Hungry revellers had a wide array of food options both local and exotic.

A small selection of stalls also sold merchandise and clothing, with some festival games such as the pull-up challenge which saw the strongest men, women and even some kids battle it out for a R500 prize.

Of course, a beer festival wouldn’t be a celebration of beer without beer-pong, organized by Fokof beers.

Ben Park, a Pretoria resident, said the day was even better than the last one he attended.

“This is my second time at the event and it is awesome, I am having a great day,” said Park.

The event had an early start at 10:00, while Black Heidi kicked off the main stage performances at 11:00.

Long-time beer fans mingled with local first timers and those just there for the stellar music offering into the dark as tap masters called final rounds at 18:00.
