Metro invites residents to apply for EPWP intake

The metro plans to visit all seven regions to host engagement sessions with residents and promote the programme.

Residents are encouraged to enrol for the EPWP during its recruitment period from June 19 – 30.

The expanded public works programme (EPWP) is a social development initiative designed to provide short-medium employment opportunities for job-seekers.

The metro plans to visit all seven regions to host engagement sessions with residents and promote the programme.

MMC for community and social development services, Cllr Peggy de Bruin says that those chosen will work on projects for the metro.

“Community members who are recruited and placed under the City of Tshwane’s EPWP projects include unemployed youths, adults and persons living with disabilities across all regions and wards,” de Bruin states.

“The city is running a recruitment drive that will result in the placement of EPWP participants within various projects scheduled to take place in the city on a fixed-term contract basis,” de Bruin continues.

Residents interested in applying must meet the following requirements:

– Must be a South African citizen

– 18 to 60 years old

– Currently unemployed

– Must bring copies of ID and proof of residence

The metro’s EPWP division will hold engagement sessions from June 19 to 30 at the following centres:
