One person was found dead and another transported to hospital as a result of being shot on Friday evening near a children’s indoor playground venue in Centurion.

Two people were shot, one succumbing to gunshot injuries on June 30, 2023 at Louise Road and Rabie Avenue, Monavoni Centurion.

The details surrounding the cause of the shooting and killing remain sketchy.

Gauteng EMS Centurion Station Commander Andre Raijmakers said the incident was reported around 20:45.

“We received reports of the shooting incident and on the scene we were met by security companies already there.”

Raijmakers said one patient was attended to for medical treatment.

“We found a middle-aged male and female who were both outside their vehicle.

“The male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left femur.”

He said the man was transported to Kalafong Hospital for further treatment.

“The female victim was shot twice and was unfortunately found deceased.”

Police have yet to comment.
