Pretoria has you covered this weekend with these events.

If you like local, have a look at these events in the capital this weekend.

Adriaan van Vuuren, July 6

Kick off the weekend early at this intimate evening with some talented out-of-the-box locals.

Come and join Adriaan van Vuuren and enjoy a captivating performance of spoken word poetry where you’ll be taken on a journey of mental health, the mysteries and woes of life, personal growth, inner retrospection and love.

Paired with a delicious two-course meal, an incredible performance by Lucien Mostert and a special drag-show performance by the one and only Lolover, the evening is sure to be an experience unlike any other.

The event starts at 19:00 at Industrial Coffee Works in Centurion.

Snuffel Nagmark, July 7

With live music, lekker food, and loads of fun, this night market is perfect for the whole family.

The market takes place on the first Friday of the month and promises a community feel for the whole family.

Warm up with other locals from 15:00 on Friday at Frederika Street, Gezina. It takes a village…

Thys Nortjie, July 7

Newcomer Thys Nortje is an emerging artist with a love for music who has made himself known as “the guy with the guitar”. Following the success of his debut single, he is set to launch his EP of the same name, Skryf.

The Skryf EP is a collection of personal songs that Thys has written over the years.

Thys’ talent for music, lyrics and his honest, personal approach to his music make him an artist to watch.

Catch him at Café Barcelona in Colbyn from 18:30 for the launch of his debut EP.

Brendan Peyper, July 8

Brendan Peyper is an artist that knows his audience. Not only is he known to be quite the heartthrob, his mix of modern country and dance-inspired pop has become a favourite among Afrikaans music fans.

The Bloemfontein-born Pretorian is bringing his live act to Vellie’s in Capital Park from 18:00 on Saturday.

Springboks v Wallabies, July 8

Backing the Boks? The Springboks are set to face the Wallabies at Loftus Versveld this weekend, a venue that has never seen Australia beat our boys.

Luckily, the anticipated clash is right here in the capital, but if you can’t get tickets, a good way to feel the vibe is to join other supporters.

Various venues in the city will be hosting events, so you don’t have to watch the game alone. The game is set to kick off at 17:00.

Niel Sandilands, July 11

“Die Neil Sandilands Gedoente” is a rich, otherworldly show that offers the best musicianship from our beautiful South Africa.

Sandilands is touring from the Cape to Mpumalanga with his unconventional, raspy, edgy show.

Catch him at Die Blou Hond on July 11 from 19:00, or for a bit of an escape from the city, at Hartebeespoort at Dozi’s Back to the Blues on July 12.
