Tshwane police arrest 269 suspects

Tshwane Police arrested 269 Suspects for various crimes during their operation O Kae Molao on Friday.
According to the acting district spokesman Captains Daniel Mavimbela, polion arrested 230 most wanted criminals.
“During the operation, the police were resolute in their commitment to combatting domestic violence.
“As a result, 64 suspects were apprehended for domestic violence-related offenses, primarily assaults,” said Mavimbela.
He further said an additional 14 suspects were detained for common robberies, while one and five suspects faced charges of murder and attempted murder respectively.
The operation was conducted in Villeria and Kameeldrift respectively from Wednesday.
Mavimbela said this unwavering commitment from the men and women in blue was a sign that they will root out corruption and criminality in communities.
He also said the operation sought to bring about much-needed relief and the ommunity’s confidence back to the Police.
“On Thursday, the operation reached its pinnacle as uniformed police officers intensified their activities, employing a roadblock, raids, stop-and-searches, and foot patrols.
“The collaborative efforts of crime intelligence and community members culminated in the arrest of four individuals found in possession of dangerous drugs, including substances such as crystal meth, crystal star, and nineteen mandrax tablets.”
The district spokesperson also revealed that during the stop and search operation one suspect was caught with illicit cigarettes while 39 were arrested for being in the country illegally.
According to Mavimbela all suspects arrested are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
The three day operation was under the leadership of the Tshwane District Commissioner, Major General Azwinndini Nengovhela.
There were other law enforcement agencies that were there including the Departments of Home Affairs, Gauteng Traffic, and Tshwane Metro Police, supported by private security companies and the community policing forum.
