No water for East residents – again
Region 3 in the east of Pretoria is without water as the metro had to fix a water pipe on Jan Shoba Street on Thursday.

Residents in the east of Pretoria have been subjected to dry taps yet again when the metro had to fix a damaged water pipe on Jan Shoba Street on Thursday.
Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the incident resulted in some of the suburbs being without water.
“The Tshwane metro is aware of a water supply interruption that has affected parts of Region 3.
“A team of technicians had to shut down the water supply yesterday evening at the Waterkloof Reservoir,” Mashigo said.
He said the damaged pipe has since been fixed, however, the filling-up process was taking much longer.
“The team has managed to conclude repairs this morning and the water supply has been opened.
“However, given that the system was empty, the network still needs to fill up before the supply to consumer normalises.”
The areas that are affected:
– Groenkloof
– Brooklyn
– Nieuw Muckleneuk
– Bailey’s Muckleneuk
– Waterkloof
– Lynnwood
– Menlo Park
Recently the metro has been experiencing challenges with supplying stable water to its residents due to fluctuating of its water reservoirs.
On Wednesday, the reservoirs in Region 3 showed stability as most of its reservoirs were all above the 50% mark.
Last week a power trip affected Rand Water’s Mapleton booster pumping station, which affected the water supply in Tshwane as a whole.
The power trip resulted in the depletion of some of Rand Water’s reservoirs.
