Centurion’s very own farmers market gains popularity every week

The market also caters for those with an artistic side, offering numerous arts and crafts, handmade clothes, jewellery, and woodwork and niche products.

Centurion’s very own farmers market, known as the Centurion Boeremark, is gaining popularity every week.

Despite the cold weather people came in their numbers to buy fresh and home-made products such as such as vegies, coffee, traditional food and handmade products.

Event organiser Ria Moggee said the market is held every week at Centurion Mall.

She said the farmers market is growing every week since it was officially launched in 15 April and have more than 60 stalls.

“The market also caters for those with an artistic side, offering numerous arts and crafts, handmade clothes, jewellery, and woodwork and niche products.”

She said the event is always a success because the vendors also support each other.

“This is a community event; people have lost their jobs, pensioners are struggling and inflation is up and up. We keep our stall fees as low as possible to make this market something Centurion can be proud of, and everyone is welcome to join the market sell his/her products,” she said.

According to her, the market was aiming to expand its non-food offerings, focusing on hand-made and home-made goods from within the community to provide a space for residents to showcase their crafts and build their businesses.
