Mamelodi Sundowns impress during preseason in Europe

"The preseason victory was not only important for its own sake, but also as a step towards improving the team's performance from last season,” coach Robinson says.

Mamelodi Sundowns made a statement in their international preseason matches, showing that they mean business and are ready to take on any opponent.

They delivered a performance that will be remembered for its intensity, skill and determination.

Sundowns are sending a message to their rivals that they are a force to be reckoned with and are here to stay.

Their performance has already set the tone for what promises to be an exciting and memorable season ahead.

It was a goal-filled performance from Bafana Ba Style that will go down in history.

Peter Shalulile was on fire, scoring two goals that set the stage for Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Thapelo Maseko to add their strikes.

The team’s chemistry was undeniable, and their skill was a sight to behold.

The thrilling match was a testament to the team’s dedication and hard work and has already raised anticipation for the upcoming season.

The win was an important one for Bafana Ba Style, and goalkeeping coach Wendell Robinson emphasised the role that starting strong and applying pressure played in the outcome.

“As coach Rulani Mokwena had predicted, scoring early on sets the tone for the rest of the match, giving the team the momentum they needed to secure the victory,” said Robinson.

Despite a few missed opportunities, the team’s determination and perseverance paid off in the end.

“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches and a great start to the season.”

Masandawana drew their first preseason encounter when they locked horns with KAA Gent in Belgium.

A narrow victory followed for The Brazilians in their second European encounter against Go Ahead Eagles where they kept a clean sheet.

“The preseason victory was not only important for its own sake, but also as a step towards improving the team’s performance from last season,” coach Robinson said.

He noted that the team has been working hard to address the problems that led to the team conceding too many goals and not scoring enough.

“The team’s application of these lessons on the field is already paying off, as evidenced by the seven goals scored so far.”

However, the coach emphasised that the work is not done and that the team is still committed to further improving in the coming season.

“The key takeaway for me is this thing we worked on, we were able to use it in the game and executed well,” Robinson concluded.

Sundowns will get back into action in their first match for the new season on Friday, August 4 against Sekhukhune United.
