Ga-Rankuwa learners motivated to rise to the top

The learners were helped to apply for university admission and getting more information about bursaries.

Learners of Ga-Rankuwa and their parents have been inspired to reach for the moon after career experts visited them recently.

Faculty of Best of Advisory hosted a learner engagement at Tebogwana School of Specialisation and supplied the learners with the correct tools for tertiary education and career guidelines.

The learners showed interest and asked questions about the options available to them after matric.

Mafule Moswane said the faculty visited the school to help with career guidance, motivation and applications for university admission.

“We will be advancing the same work tomorrow at the school mainly with grades 10, 11 and 12 to ensure that learners can apply and make the right career choices,” he said.

He added that the main aim of visiting the school was to help the learners make the right career choices and not drop out because they didn’t enjoy their studies.

Grade 12 Refiloe Mampane said the engagement helped her because she lacked the motivation to make a career choice for next year.

“It was important for me to attend this career expo since I am in matric. I was still confused as to which career field I should pursue next year. After all the information I got here today, I know what I am going to study,” she said.

Grade 10 learner Nompumelelo Manana said for her matric, she will choose subjects in humanities and ICT (information and communication technology).

“Right now, I have all the information. This learner engagement helped me realise what I am good at, I will get to choose courses wisely without any doubt,” she said.

Many learners said they enjoyed the engagement and were motivated to work hard on their academics.

They were advised to take what they learned and share it with their friends and neighbours.
