Olievenhoutbosch ATM bombed

Police said that 15 unknown men approached the petrol station on foot before bombing the ATM.

An ATM at a petrol station was bombed by multiple suspects who managed to escape on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

The bombing happened around 02:30 on Monday, August 7.

According to Tshwane police spokesperson, Johan van Dyk, 15 suspects approached the petrol station on foot.

The suspects proceeded to bomb the ATM and took an unknown amount of cash.

Van Dyk said that the suspects also broke into the shop by forcing the door open.

The suspects stole an amount of R1 000 from the till, as well as an unknown quantity of cigarettes.

They then fled the scene on foot.

The incident was also confirmed by Arrive Alive, who warned motorists that the incident could affect morning traffic in the area.

According to Arrive Alive, the men fled to cars to make their get-away.

Arrive Alive said that there were no descriptions of the get-away vehicles.
