The purpose of the event was to raise money for the school’s operational costs, which includes, among other things, paying for the education of about 80 learners under the bursary programme, while also providing parents and children with top-notch entertainment.

Top musicians like Jo Black, Appel, Francios van Coke, Droomsindroom, Ross Learmonth, and Die Heuwels Fantasties shared the stage, providing 4 662 audience members with live musical performances.

The occasion provided local businesses with new commercial opportunities. They offered a wide range of products and services, including teddies, bags, plants, books, perfume, jewellery, clothing, shoes, food and beverages, face painting, and photography. A large play area featured slides, a swing, jumping castles, a climbing wall and a mechanical bull for the children, making the event one to remember.

This is the third Eduplex Oppitrack Family Music Festival since 2019, and this year, according to organising team member Tania Cronje, “we are going big.” A large play area for children, a silent disco for teenagers, a large beer tent, two food courts, and a flair market with several shops were amongst the amenities, according to Cronje.

The director and founder of Eduplex, Nico van der Merwe, commended the organising team for a job well done. “This is one of our most successful Oppitrack events,” Van der Merwe said, attributing its success to the team’s work. “It is really wonderful to see that the organising team doing an outstanding job.”

He said although it was a fundraiser for the school, it also had the intention of blessing everyone in Pretoria. “It is important for Eduplex to be a blessing to the entire community as the Christian school,” he stated.

According to him, even though the event was a success, everyone involved learnt from it. He added that the organising team would do even better in the future because of the experience and new abilities they had gained.
