Residents invited to make the most of Heritage Month programme

Residents are encouraged to visit Tshwane’s diverse heritage sites and make full use of them. A list of these can be accessed on the City’s website.

The City of Tshwane urges residents to participate in cultural and heritage programmes being held throughout September.

Peggy de Bruin, MMC for community and social development services said this is an excellent opportunity for people to celebrate diverse cultures, traditions and learn other languages.

Residents are also encouraged to visit museums and historical cultural sites.

Tshwane is partnering with cultural and heritage organisations to ensure residents have access to rich cultural experiences this month.

“By collaborating with academic institutions, the city is helping to create a more informed and knowledgeable citizenry,” said De Bruin.

She said by working with cultural organisations and heritage sites, the city is promoting awareness and appreciation of its diverse cultural heritage.

“This month will be filled with exciting and educational events that will leave a lasting impression on those who participate.”
